Youth United Foundation is pleased to welcome two new members of the team, Tina Williams and Cristina Otelea.
Tina joined Youth United Foundation in August as an events consultant on a part-time basis. She brings over 15 years of events, fundraising and project management experience having worked at a senior level for a number of national charities. This includes events and fundraising roles with The Prince’s Charities working at The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation and The Prince’s Regeneration Trust. She has also headed up Events teams at charities including Mencap and Breast Cancer Care.
Tina will be in charge of organising Youth United’s Social Action Awards which aim to celebrate the achievements of our Network units who have benefitted from the Uniformed Youth Social Action Fund. If time allows, she will also plan our Annual General Meeting in November.
Of her most recent appointment, Tina has said “From my previous roles working for The Prince’s Charities I have been aware of the great work of Youth United Foundation. It is very exciting to now be working here and I’ve had a wonderful warm welcome”.
Outside of work, Tina has a passion for travel and photography and has undertaken trips from the Arctic to the Amazon and has led groups of volunteer fundraisers on challenge events in Namibia, Japan and the Sahara desert. Tina has a degree in History from Lancaster University.
Tina can be contacted directly either on 0207 401 7601 or by emailing Tina.Williams@yuf.org.uk.
Completing our team is Cristina, who joins us after returning from Nepal where she participated in a community development project with Voluntary Service Overseas. Prior to travelling abroad and teaching English to children, Cristina graduated from the University of Essex with a first class degree in Politics and Modern Languages and a Masters in International Relations.
Cristina has taken on the role of Executive and Communications Assistant and will be taking care of our CEO’s calendar and managing Youth United’s digital and social media, including our monthly newsletter.
On joining the Youth United team, Cristina has said “I am extremely happy to be part of a team of such dedicated and inspirational individuals. Having been a volunteer myself, I appreciate all the work Youth United does for our Network organisations all the more.” In her spare time, you can find Cristina travelling, shopping and enjoying local cuisines around Europe.
For general or media enquiries please contact Cristina on 0207 401 7601 or send an email to Cristina.Otelea@yuf.org.uk.
