WELCOME TO THE YOUTH UNITED FOUNDATION WEBSITE

Youth United Foundation exists to improve outcomes for young people, regardless of background, by expanding access to uniformed youth groups.

We bring uniformed youth organisations together so they can learn from each other, share best practice and collectively support more young people. We advocate for the uniformed youth sector by demonstrating its united impact.

Youth United Foundation is a network of the nation's leading uniformed youth organisations: Air Cadets, Army Cadets, Boys’ Brigade, Fire Cadets, Girlguiding, Girls’ Brigade, Jewish Lads’ and Girls’ Brigade, Scouts, Sea Cadets, St John Ambulance Cadets, Volunteer Police Cadets. These 11 network organisations work directly with 1.5m young people, aged between 4-24.

YUF Patron - King & Queen Camilla

OUR FOUNDER

YUF was founded by King Charles III at the time he was Prince of Wales.

In 2009, passionate about youth social action and uniformed youth, HRH brought together heads of the Nation’s leading uniformed youth groups to form the first collaborative network for uniformed youth. Inspired by his values of harmony, cohesion and collaboration, The Foundation was born – Generating and facilitating programmes that span across the regions, targeting hard to reach young people, creating new opportunities and sustaining pre-existing units.

HRH The Prince of Wales remains committed to youth social action and investment and is engaged with a number of youth charities through the Prince of Wales’ Charitable Foundation, The Prince’s Trust and his royal patronages, including our partners Step Up To Serve and the #iWill Campaign.
